Computer viruses is becoming increasingly threatening to doing online business. In a flash, an internet entrepreneur can loose valuable data files to virus when his computer system is infected with it.

First, what is a virus? A virus is a program written by undesirable and faceless elements with the sole purpose of undermining or interrupting the smooth workings of any computer system. Sometimes too, a virus could be generated from a poorly written computer programs.

Either way, viruses copy themselves into legitimate files in your systems. These files are called hosts to the virus. From there the viruses will gradually eat into more and more files on the disk.

Regularly back up your data.
Write protect drives you are using for back up purposes.
Do not share back up drives haphazardly.
Scan every back up drive from third parties before usage if you must share drives.
Use antivirus programs that are known as “terminate-and-stay resident” programs. These are programs that are on guard every time you are working on your computer systems. Though it may slow down your work, it is better to be late than never!
